The Work

What materials do I use in my paintings?

Well, I start out using Strong wood which would have gone to fill some dump or yard somewhere with more junk. I take the wood and cut it down and build my own stretchers. Then I stretch canvas or upholstery fabric over the stretchers and layer 2 - 3 coats of boding primer and sand between coats. Next I take Acrylic Latex of whatever color, and apply it in my own way.

The finished product is then layered in three to four coats of polyurethane. The paintings are always signed and dated. The inch and a half thick edges are painted in a color suitable for the piece of art so there is no immediate need for framing.

I use water based paints primarily such as: Acrylic Latex, Latex Enamel, and Acrylic Polyurethane. I makes my own stretchers from second hand material and use heavy duty canvas or a high quality heavy duty upholstery fabric as my surface. I sign and date every work.
